With sunny days bursting forth from the Aqua Allegoria collection, a selection of perfumed poems freely composed by a perfumer who is smitten with gardens.

Every year since 1999, Guerlain has reinvented the timeless theme of freshness in this opus, designed as an ode to every facet of nature. Lit up by sparkling citrus, these delicate and happy botanical accords gain their full expression in the presence of exceptional raw materials.  A new edition, composed by Thierry Wasser, joins these benchmark creations each spring with the launch of Aqua Allegoria Limon Verde for 2014.

The art of Aqua Allegoria lies in the unexpected union of natural festive notes. A perfect example is the astonishingly simple accord of cachaça, cane sugar and lime, the secret of the caipirinha.  In Limon Verde, Thierry Wasser interprets this contrast between the sparkle of lime and the sweetness of cane sugar to create a tropical citrus as joyful and lively as a samba.

Only exceptional raw materials can express this quintessence of the Latin American continent. In Mexico, the perfumer discovered a specific quality of lime, a sweet lime whose essence was purposely crafted to accentuate its vivacity and explosiveness. Venezuela offered him its tonka bean, an iconic material of the Guerlinade to which
it lends its warm and rounded accents.

An entire lush tropical landscape springs up around these two richly faceted essences. A bubbly cocktail sipped on a beach of hot sand. The crystalline sparkle of a cascade at the heart of the jungle. The fresh and humid verdure of foliage. The pulpy, thirst-quenching flesh of exotic fruits with lilting names. Followed by a veil of moisture rising from the soil.

As dusk falls, the party comes to life. The enveloping sweetness of tonka bean unites the delicious freshness of citrus fruit with skin warmed by dancing and makes the exotic journey last through the night.
