NARS Cosmetics has announced the launch of its 2016 holiday collaboration with French fashion photographer, Sarah Moon. The NARS Sarah Moon Holiday Collection explores a metropolis of modern femininity through delicate, ethereal imagery and products in a limited edition 25-sku collection.

The range, available in November 2016, will showcase innovative packaging with a play on frost and translucency as well as new, innovative product formulas and shades.

“Sarah is a poet, a sculptor, a painter. I have been fascinated by her work for many years. I love her vision of beauty, her sensibility, extreme perfectionism and refinement. Watching her taking photographs was a great lesson of life,” says François Nars.

Sarah Moon, born in Vichy, France, began her career as a prominent fashion model in the 1960’s but like François Nars, her creativity and curiosity drew her to the other side of the camera. Her romantic, often dream-like photography has been featured in exhibitions in Paris, Kyoto, Japan and New York, as well as major fashion campaigns for Chanel, Dior and Comme des Garçons. Sarah draws inspiration from everything from Japanese fashion to books and silent films. She brings her love of modernity and tradition to the world of NARS and beauty.

“There is great trust, respect, and mutual admiration between us, it made it lovely to work together,” says Sarah Moon. “Also, he’s a photographer so he knows how fragile the process is. From the beginning to the end, it was a true collaboration.”
